We entered three of our 400ml gelato pots into Great Taste 2026. All three came back with stars.
Alphonso Mango Sorbet and Dark Chocolate Sorbet were each awarded two stars. Madagascan Vanilla Gelato took one. Five stars across three pots, from a competition where nobody knew they were ours.
Judged blind, by people who taste for a living
Great Taste is run by the Guild of Fine Food, and the thing that makes it worth winning is the way it is judged. Over 500 food experts, chefs and buyers sit on the panel. Every entry is tasted with the label hidden — no brands, no packaging, no story. Just the spoon.
That means nobody gave us the benefit of the doubt for being a small kitchen in Limehouse, and nobody marked us down for it either. The judges tasted exactly what you get at home: the same 400ml pot we sell in Chinatown and Stratford.
What the judges said
Of the Alphonso Mango Sorbet, the panel wrote: "Refreshing and light, it allows the mango to shine through as it should." Which is roughly what we were going for, so that was a relief.
